Welcome to Day 16 of our Bible based, Christ focused devotional.
Welcome to Day 16 of our Bible based, Christ focused devotional.
Purpose: With so many people suffering during these tough economic times, I wanted to create a daily devotional which would promote faith in God as a solution to overcoming anger and fear.
Each devotional will provide a daily passage of Scripture for you to reflect on throughout the day. In addition, an “Action Item” will assign a daily, simple task to help you address your fears with faith and move forward with God's plans for you.
Thank you and God bless you for reading this devotional--please share it with others!

DAY 16: LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Let Your Light Shine
Yesterday, I completed the final day a two day treatment known as IVIG (see yesterday’s devotional for details).
I also wrote about how upbeat the cancer patients were and how the nurses were wonderful caretakers of everyone present.
This morning when I woke up, I could see the sunlight shining through a hallway window and it reminded me of the patients and nurses I encountered this week.
Specifically, I saw the faces of several older women light up when nurses gave them a hug, or shared info about their favorite TV shows.
Simply put, the nurses were allowing the light within them to shine forth and brighten the day of the people they cared for.
Many of those patients were probably going through some tough times, but in an instant, just a kind word, a hug, and the gift of spending a little quality time from a nurse, brightened their day.
May we all share the gift of letting God’s light within us shine forth to brighten and bless the day of someone who has problems far greater than ours.
ACTION ITEM:
In yesterday’s Action Item I asked that you take this weekend to think about some basic, simple thing that you usually take for granted and thank God for it.
Please add a little sunshine to that effort, by making someone’s day a bit brighter. Whenever you encounter someone this weekend, smile and say, “Hello,” especially if they are a stranger.
Even if they don’t reciprocate, you’re made the effort and planted the seed. Leave it up to God to nurture it further.
Until tomorrow, have a blessed, peaceful weekend!

CLOSING PRAYER: For the remainder of our devotions, please pray about whatever the Lord places in your heart and mind. I also ask that you pray for me as well. I pray daily for everyone who comes in contact with these devotions and feel blessed as a result.

A TRUE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD:
If you would like a relationship with God, the only way to do it is through His son, Jesus Christ. This is supported in the Bible: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. --John 14:6 (King James Version)
We begin this relationship by first accepting Jesus. Click Here for a link to more info.
