Welcome to Day 28 of our Bible based, Christ focused devotional.
Purpose: With so many people suffering during these tough economic times, I wanted to create a daily devotional which would promote faith in God as a solution to overcoming anger and fear.
Each devotional will provide a daily passage of Scripture for you to reflect on throughout the day. In addition, an “Action Item” will assign a daily, simple task to help you address your fears with faith and move forward with God's plans for you.
Thank you and God bless you for reading this devotional--please share it with others!

DAY 28: REPRESENT
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE FOR REFLECTION:
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
OPENING PRAYER: In your opening prayer, in addition to anything else you want to pray about, ask God to remind you to represent Christ at all times.
--------------------------------------------------
Represent
I wasn’t in a good mood when I woke up this morning. I was tired and my body ached, but before I got out of bed I said to myself, “Represent. You gotta represent.”
Despite my foul mood, it wouldn’t be fair for me to expose my family, or anyone else to it, so I stopped myself right away and thought about how I should represent Jesus at all times.
There’s a saying that was attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi, but it may have originated from someone else, “Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words when necessary.” I thought of this quote as I got out of bed, making an effort to improve my mood.
When I watched the morning news, I was really blessed to see a good representative for Christ, breast cancer survivor, Deanna Favre. Deanna is the wife of NFL quarterback, Brett Favre. She was on Good Morning America to promote a book she co-wrote with a pastor called, The Cure for the Chronic Life: Overcoming the Hopelessness That Holds You Back.
When asked how she copes with difficulties in her life, including recent allegations about her husband’s misconduct, Deanna replied that she keeps a passage of Scripture on her fridge, Isaiah 41:10-13.
Deanna quoted that Scripture and I thought it was really appropriate for our 40 day devotional, Faith, Not Fear and a great way to close today’s devotional. I’ll also add it to my collection of Scripture quotes that I keep on index cards around the house.
Isaiah 41:10-13 (New International Version)
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11 "All who rage against you
will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish.
will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish.
12 Though you search for your enemies,
you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all.
you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the LORD, your God,
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.

ACTION ITEM: Continue the Action Item for the week: “Each day this week, make an attempt to live each day like it’s your last.”
Until tomorrow, have a blessed day and Represent!
-------------------------------------------CLOSING PRAYER: For the remainder of our devotions, please pray about whatever the Lord places in your heart and mind. I also ask that you pray for me as well. I pray daily for everyone who comes in contact with these devotions and feel blessed as a result.

A TRUE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD:
If you would like a relationship with God, the only way to do it is through His son, Jesus Christ. This is supported in the Bible: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. --John 14:6 (King James Version)
We begin this relationship by first accepting Jesus. Click Here for a link to more info.
