Another Day God Gives Me 2 Get It Right

Woke up feeling better.

Exited about what the Lord has in store for me 2day.

I've learned 2 cherish both good & bad health days. I prefer the good ones, but don't wanna take 4 granted being alive.

No matter how my body feels, each day I'm alive is another day God has given me to get it right.

Have a blessed day, everybody!

"Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged."                      1 Chronicles 22:13 (New International Version)

Day 40 of 40--Faith, Not Fear: THE ONLY WAY

You can find links to each devotional on our Web site

-------------------------------
Welcome to Day 40 of our Bible based, Christ focused devotional.

Purpose: With so many people suffering during these tough economic times, I wanted to create a daily devotional which would promote faith in God as a solution to overcoming anger and fear.

Each devotional will provide a daily passage of Scripture for you to reflect on throughout the day. In addition, an “Action Item” will assign a daily, simple task to help you address your fears with faith and move forward with God's plans for you.
Thank you and God bless you for reading this devotional--please share it with others!

DAY 40:  THE ONLY WAY

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE FOR REFLECTION:
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 (New International Version)

------------------------------------------------------------------
OPENING PRAYER:   In your opening prayer, in addition to anything else you want to pray about, ask God to put you in places and situations where you can tell others about what Jesus has done for you. (My pastor, Dr. Lucius M. Dalton, says this at the end of each sermon and I’m glad he does so as it reminds believers of their obligation to share Christ with others.)
 --------------------------------------------------
The Only Way
We’ve come to the final day of our 40 day devotional—congrats!

Hopefully, you found something within these devotionals which helped you to choose faith over fear.

If you or someone you know has tried everything else to solve problems, without lasting success, why not try Jesus?

The one true way for us to have a relationship with God is through His son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is our ambassador to God. This is what God, our Heavenly Father requires of us in order to have access to Him—you must first humble yourself and accept Jesus.

We know this to be true because God clearly communicates this in the Bible.

When we don’t base our relationship with God on what is written in the Bible, we create our own god.

I heard a sermon recently in which the preacher pointed out that many folks just pick and choose what they want to believe about God. They create a relationship of convenience and make up their own rules for how God should behave and how they will behave.

If you are guilty of this type of relationship, you know deep down that it is not true.

You will eventually reach a point where your made up, imaginary god will not help you to overcome life’s problems. When this happens, people often become discouraged and blame the one true God.

Following Jesus will not solve all your problems, but He will give you the strength, wisdom and peace of mind to withstand the storms of this dark world.

We are going to have problems here on Earth as long as we are living here, which is our temporary home. Jesus told us He’s preparing a place for us in Heaven and until He returns to take us home, we have lots of work to do to help others find their way to God.

If you are ready to let Jesus into your life, there’s a simple prayer you can pray to get things back on track in your life:

Salvation Prayer
" Heavenly Father, I'm a sinner. I have sinned against You. I want forgiveness for all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. Father, I accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life. I give You my life to do with as you wish. I want Jesus Christ to come into my heart.
This I ask in Jesus' name.
Amen!"

If you prayed the prayer above, congrats, you have taken the first steps toward a loving relationship with God. Next, you should join a church where fellow believers can encourage and help you as you grow in your new life as a follower of Jesus Christ.

Closing Words of Thanks:

I thank the Lord for allowing me to glorify Him through these devotionals. I prayed everyday for the Holy Spirit to inspire me to write what God wanted to communicate daily and He never let me down. I never experienced writer’s block and every day the Lord revealed something new and exciting for me to write about.

I can’t thank Him enough for the gift of life and the opportunity to serve.

I’m also very grateful to everyone who joined us for these devotionals. I’ve been blessed by your comments and encouraging words during this 40 day journey.

DAY 39:  TO AND FRO

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE FOR REFLECTION:

14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:14-16 (King James Version)

------------------------------------------------------------------

 --------------------------------------------------

To and Fro
When we are faced with problems, sometimes our guard is down when it comes to reason.

We tend to flock to the latest thing that we think will quickly solve our problems, or make us feel better.

I pray that when folks vote this Tuesday, they will pray first before making a decision based on raw emotion, anger and/or fear.

I also pray for our nation and the world at large. The worldwide economic recession may just be the beginning of hard times to come as foretold in the Bible.

Politicians may offer quick fixes, but only God can truly provide the help, comfort and peace we need to navigate the storms of life.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
ACTION ITEM:  Research candidates and issues that will be on the ballot in your area this Tuesday. Pray for guidance about your voting decision.

Also pray that the Holy Spirit will guide and help you to deal with your problems and ask Him to be of comfort to those on your prayer list.

Until tomorrow, have a blessed day!
------------------------------------------------
CLOSING PRAYER: For the remainder of our devotions, please pray about whatever the Lord places in your heart and mind. I also ask that you pray for me as well. I pray daily for everyone who comes in contact with these devotions and feel blessed as a result.

DAY 38:  PEACE, BE STILL

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE FOR REFLECTION:
37And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? Mark 4:37-41 (King James Version)

 --------------------------------------------------
Peace, Be Still
Several times over the weekend, I wanted to continue working toward a deadline, but my body was just too tired.

I kept pushing myself to go on despite what my body was telling me. Knowing that without proper rest, my illness would make my body suffer, I had to take time to just be “still” for awhile.

A sure fire way for me to be still is to take a hot bath. Like a small child, a warm bath will make me drowsy. So, I took a nice, hot bath and just prayed while I soaked in the tub. Afterward, I stumbled into bed and my body got the rest it needed.

Sometimes we all need to “be still” and take time out from our problems to talk with God.
