Day 40 of 40--Faith, Not Fear: THE ONLY WAY

You can find links to each devotional on our Web site

-------------------------------
Welcome to Day 40 of our Bible based, Christ focused devotional.

Purpose: With so many people suffering during these tough economic times, I wanted to create a daily devotional which would promote faith in God as a solution to overcoming anger and fear.

Each devotional will provide a daily passage of Scripture for you to reflect on throughout the day. In addition, an “Action Item” will assign a daily, simple task to help you address your fears with faith and move forward with God's plans for you.
Thank you and God bless you for reading this devotional--please share it with others!

DAY 40:  THE ONLY WAY

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE FOR REFLECTION:
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 (New International Version)

OPENING PRAYER:   In your opening prayer, in addition to anything else you want to pray about, ask God to put you in places and situations where you can tell others about what Jesus has done for you. (My pastor, Dr. Lucius M. Dalton, says this at the end of each sermon and I’m glad he does so as it reminds believers of their obligation to share Christ with others.)

The Only Way
We’ve come to the final day of our 40 day devotional—congrats!

Hopefully, you found something within these devotionals which helped you to choose faith over fear.

If you or someone you know has tried everything else to solve problems, without lasting success, why not try Jesus?

The one true way for us to have a relationship with God is through His son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is our ambassador to God. This is what God, our Heavenly Father requires of us in order to have access to Him—you must first humble yourself and accept Jesus.

We know this to be true because God clearly communicates this in the Bible.

When we don’t base our relationship with God on what is written in the Bible, we create our own god.

I heard a sermon recently in which the preacher pointed out that many folks just pick and choose what they want to believe about God. They create a relationship of convenience and make up their own rules for how God should behave and how they will behave.

If you are guilty of this type of relationship, you know deep down that it is not true.

You will eventually reach a point where your made up, imaginary god will not help you to overcome life’s problems. When this happens, people often become discouraged and blame the one true God.

Following Jesus will not solve all your problems, but He will give you the strength, wisdom and peace of mind to withstand the storms of this dark world.

We are going to have problems here on Earth as long as we are living here, which is our temporary home. Jesus told us He’s preparing a place for us in Heaven and until He returns to take us home, we have lots of work to do to help others find their way to God.

If you are ready to let Jesus into your life, there’s a simple prayer you can pray to get things back on track in your life:

Salvation Prayer
" Heavenly Father, I'm a sinner. I have sinned against You. I want forgiveness for all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. Father, I accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life. I give You my life to do with as you wish. I want Jesus Christ to come into my heart.
This I ask in Jesus' name.
Amen!"

If you prayed the prayer above, congrats, you have taken the first steps toward a loving relationship with God. Next, you should join a church where fellow believers can encourage and help you as you grow in your new life as a follower of Jesus Christ.

Closing Words of Thanks:

I thank the Lord for allowing me to glorify Him through these devotionals. I prayed everyday for the Holy Spirit to inspire me to write what God wanted to communicate daily and He never let me down. I never experienced writer’s block and every day the Lord revealed something new and exciting for me to write about.

I can’t thank Him enough for the gift of life and the opportunity to serve.

I’m also very grateful to everyone who joined us for these devotionals. I’ve been blessed by your comments and encouraging words during this 40 day journey.

A TRUE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD:
If you would like a relationship with God, the only way to do it is through His son, Jesus Christ. This is supported in the Bible: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. --John 14:6 (King James Version)

We begin this relationship by first accepting Jesus. Click Here for a link to more info.
