PBS Frontline Program: The Mormons

PBS is airing a repeat broadcast of their two-part program called, The Mormons, on many of their stations this week. You can also watch the program online at PBS.org.

I highly recommend that you view this program, especially if you don't know much about the Mormon faith also known as
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints .

Mormons, like former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, claim they are Christians, but when one truly learns how they define their faith, it becomes clear that they do not worship Jesus.
The CHRISTIAN APOLOGETICS & RESEARCH MINISTRY (CARM) site does a good job of summarizing Mormon beliefs. For example, Mormons believe the following...
  • That God was once a man from a planet called Kolob
  • Satan is the brother of Jesus
  • The Book of Mormon (their addition to the Bible) is more correct than the Bible
  • Each president of their church is a prophet
  • Their church is the only true church. All other forms of Christianity are an abomination
  • The list goes on and on. I urge you to visit the CARM site for the full list

Do you recall Mitt Romney discussing any of the above? Nope? That's because he didn't. A number of people who voted for him had no idea what he believed in and just assumed he was a Christian--just because he said so.

It is important in this era of New Age religions/cults for believers to ask others to clearly define what they believe.

Be blessed today by telling someone about what Jesus has done for you!

Your Brother in Christ,

Steven Kendall
